The Vikings of Dorth
Wolves of the Frozen North
From the icy fjords of Dorth come the fierce Viking warriors, bound by blood oath to the great wolves who share their frozen realm. Their steel blue eyes reflect the cold determination of the northern wastes.
Origin Lore
In the frozen reaches beyond the northern seas lies Dorth, a realm of eternal winter where the mightiest warriors walk alongside the great wolves of legend. The Vikings of Dorth are not merely warriors they are the living embodiment of the wolf spirit, bound by ancient blood oaths sworn beneath the aurora borealis. The origins of the Dorth bloodline trace back to the first chieftain, Fenrir Ironheart, who ventured alone into the Howling Wastes during the Long Night. There, he encountered the Alpha of all wolves, a creature as old as the ice itself. Rather than battle, Fenrir knelt and offered his blood freely, forging the first Bond of Fangs. From that day forward, the people of Dorth and the wolves became one people, sharing strength, wisdom, and purpose. The Vikings of Dorth are renowned for their longships, which can sail through frozen waters that would trap any other vessel. Their smiths forge weapons from Frostmetal, a rare ore found only in the deepest glacial caves, which never loses its edge and grows colder in battle. Warriors who prove themselves in combat earn the right to undergo the Ritual of the Howl, where they bond with a wolf companion who becomes their partner for life. Their great halls are carved into the living rock of mountain peaks, warmed by sacred fires that have burned since the first age. Here, skalds sing of ancient victories while wolves rest at their masters' feet. The Dorth believe that when a warrior dies in glory, their spirit joins the Great Pack in the sky, forever running across the stars. The current Jarl of Dorth, Shango Heljarskinn, leads his people with the wisdom of ages. Under his rule, the Vikings have forged alliances with the other bloodlines, bringing their ferocity to bear against the common enemies that threaten all of Sahael. The wolves of Dorth now run beside warriors from every bloodline, a testament to the bonds that unite the realm.
